With over 30 years of experience, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen provides high-quality, affordable child care programs that actively engage children through hands-on experiences and youth development. From preschool to before and after school care, to summer camp our programs support children at every stage, helping them learn, grow, and thrive in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

Before & After School Care
Designed to complement the school day, our programs provide a balance of structure, choice, and fun through:

• Homework support and academic time 
• Hands-on activities in arts, STEM, and physical fitness 
• Social-emotional learning and leadership opportunities 
• Games, recreation, and peer interaction 

 
Preschool Programs
Our preschool programs focus on preparing children for kindergarten while nurturing their natural curiosity and love of learning.
Through a research-based curriculum, children:

• Develop early literacy and math skills 
• Build social and emotional confidence 
• Learn through play, exploration, and guided activities 

 
Summer Camp Programs
Our summer camp offers a fun, structured, and engaging experience that keeps children active and connected while school is out.

Overall, 1,330 children were enrolled in Catholic Charities child care programs in fiscal year 2025 including children enrolled in early learning centers, school age child care, and summer camp programs.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Children must be attending a host district school. Subsidy is available to qualifying families.  If you need help  paying for child care, please contact your local Child Care Resource and Referral Agency.
