The Immigration Program provides services to people who need assistance with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), formerly the Immigration and Naturalization Services. The Immigration Program assists individuals with a wide array of immigration services including: Relative Alien Petitions, Replacement of Green Cards, Adjustment of Status, Citizenship, Asylum, Work-based petitions, domestic violence petitions, work authorization, visa extension, temporary protected status, translation and public notary services. At open house sessions, and scheduled appointments, the public comes to discuss problems they are experiencing in obtaining a desired immigration status. Those eligible are given ongoing assistance in filing the forms and documents needed to resolve their immigration problem. The program director is accredited by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) certified to act on behalf of clients with USCIS. The staff is bi-cultural and bi-lingual, providing services in Spanish, French, Creole, and German. This service is funded through client fees and a grant from the United Way of Central Jersey.
